This is where you can find educational programs by the Sigmas as well as other groups on campus!!

After watching the historic election on November 4th, many students thought that there would be a huge photo of President-Barack Obama. However, instead there was a title in the paper on November 5th with the heading “Hope Floats” with governor Kaine, Senator Warner, and Senator Webb. Where was Barack Obama in all of this fanfare? That’s the question student activist Alana Mallory asked the Collegiate times and their response was an article by the Public Editor entitled “Reasoning behind NObama on CT’s post-election coverage.” Ms. Mallory received  this response before it hit the papers on November 12th 2008. Outraged, she began a petition so that students can voice their resentment of the coverage on election day.  The article can be viewed a:

The Petition can be signed at:

The question is simple….Was the CT biased on their coverage of the 2008 Presidential election?  If so what should be done about it? You decide….

Early boat used by the ancient Pelasgians in Greece

Throughout history, the Greeks were thought to be the civilization that introduced philosophy, science, medicine, and art to the world. This program looked at the evolution of civilization with its origin in Africa. We show that the Ancient Africans were the forerunners of Greco civilization. The Ancient Africans had ships and traveled across the Aegean Sea and were settlers of Modern Greece. Much of their culture (Garamante, Mycenean, Pelasgian, and Egyptian) was spread throughout “Hellenic” Greece during the times of the ancient Greek Philosphers.
